Day 24: Costal California to San Francisco

Miles: 5,612
States: 21

It's so foggy here. The fog isn't easy to capture with a camera, but it just rolls across the roads, the hills, the buildings. We're sitting in a Starbucks now (to finally use the internet) and there's been fog blowing across the window constantly since we sat down.

We drove through the costal town of Mendocino, which was really too foggy to appreciate, then headed for San Francisco. Before getting into the city we stopped in Muir Woods, a huge redwood park just north of the city. On the way in to San Fran, we crossed the bridge, but it too foggy to really see much. It's a bit disconcerting to drive on a high road and not be able to see anything around you.

We stopped for a couple hours in Japantown for a bit of shopping and really good miso soup and soba noodles.

Driving in the city was a bit stressful as well, and we were happy to get out of there. Today we're headed down the coast on CA-1 towards LA, although we're planning to stop somewhere along the coast tonight.
